Music As An Inspiration Worldwide

Something I have learned throughout the 18 years of my life is that music is not just “music”. It is a language, a way of expressing yourself when words fail to come out, a way to communicate with people, and being able to transmit emotions. It’s a way in which we can tell our story in a language that is composed of a mixture between consonant and dissonant sounds that everyone understands; and even though music is very subjective since it depends on your own taste, there’s always that mutual understanding of what the artist is transmitting, or the emotions you are able to feel when listening to a certain song.

When I was younger, I always looked up to artists that were able to transmit their emotions with music. Those artists that when you listened to them, you’d feel your body slowly filling itself with goosebumps. I always listened to songs that had meaning, songs that I could relate to. However, I feel like that is something that has been lacking nowadays in the music industry. You’d have to dig deep to find a song that is not talking about big butts, sex, and unrealistic body type, and dembow loop; since, for some reason, that’s what everyone wants nowadays.

Personally, as an artist, I want my music to inspire people. I want to be able to perform on a grand stage and have millions of people singing along and experiencing the same feeling I had when I listened to my favorite artists when I was younger. I want my music to help people, to let them know that they’re not alone in what they’re going through because no matter how lonely you feel, there’s always going to be someone that feels the same way you do and understands what you’re going through. I want to be that person for those who need someone.
