Karla de Aguiar is a young woman that is the host of her own talk show, ElKarlaShow. She has always been in the performing arts as she was an actress before the pandemic hit. At first, she didn't expect this talkshow to become a regular thing as in the beginning it was just something she created because “the director of the theater suggested [she]should do something on Tuesdays, which is when [they] would usually meet.” At first, she did not have a plan of what this show would look like but it gave her a little bit of hope amidst everything that she loved doing being canceled because of the pandemic.

When she first started thinking about what she could do for this show she called up one of her friends that were also in theater and decided she was gonna interview him. She then began doing more of these interviews with her other peers from the theater which she explained were sort of like “personality interviews, who is the person behind the camera, the person you always see on the internet or someone who does something may be interesting but you don't know who they really are ''. After it was a success with her theater peers, she decided she could begin doing it on a bigger scale and began interviewing other people. She started interviewing people that she thought were interesting that contributed positively to society, or were involved in the areas of culture or art.

She particularly interviews artists, singers, dancers, and producers because they cater more to her own interests as she loves theater and everything that comes with it. However, she later realized that “not everyone is like [her] or are interested in artists, dancers, singers, etc.”. Because of this, she began choosing people from other areas, such as interviewing a pilot on how the pandemic has affected them and their work.

She loves interacting with her followers and the people who DM or just want to talk to her. She explains how she tries to answer fairly quickly, as she feels happy and flattered that people want to reach out and talk to her. One thing she learned from interviews is “that no one is out of reach and there is always something that connects you”. She also explains something else she has learned is that everyone has a way of seeing the world and that makes them special. A lot of the questions she asks the people she interviews are similar but it's interesting that “their answer to simple questions is different each time and it helps you see the world as bigger”.

One of her biggest obstacles is that she wishes that she could share more of her work with more people, but she knows that every good thing takes time so she is happy to be patient and wait. Her biggest fear when it comes to the growth of her show is “not being to fulfill her best potential and achieve her dreams”. She has been working on this project for a long time and she is happy she can finally make it come to life.

She considers it more of a show but says it could also be taken more as a podcast. She explains how she believes what separates her from others is her “interaction with the public”. For her, her followers are not strangers, but people that she always talks to and feels as if she personally knows. As you grow in numbers sometimes it's difficult to keep up with everyone and feels as if you are connected to them, but she always tries to keep up with them. She hopes to continue expanding her brand and is happy she is on the path there. One of her major supporters is her uncle who tells her “not to stop going up and always maninting consistency”. She hopes to not only continue doing interviews but also continue speaking up on subjects that interest her and she finds important.

Her most important mission with her show is to “ leave a positive impact on people because [she] thinks she has a very important channel of communication” She wants to make a space in which the public feels close to me and trusts her. She hopes to continue having people look up to her and feel close to her in 5 years when she dreams of being on television or some big platform such as Netflix or Disney come true in order to continue helping people and leaving a positive attitude and impact on society.

She has applied a lot of what she has learned at University as a communications major into her show. She has applied a lot of these lessons, such as how to deal with different types of people or the different types of procedures she has to take. A lot of the time what takes her the longest when doing her interviews is putting everything together.

She first “makes a script and makes sure everything [she] wants the public to know about this person is there, conducts the interview, and then afterwards has to edit everything.” Although it can be exhausting she loves it because her show has allowed so many people to be heard and to be able to express themselves.

If she would have to give advice to someone who is starting it would be to “have a clear goal of what you want to do and be consistent”. She believes it is what will make you stand out and be different from others. You also have to make sure you love what you do because then you can do what you love while also making something out of it. She is happy with the route her show is taking and hopes to continue seeing it grow and positively impact others.

Karla de Aguilar es una joven que es conductora de su propio programa de entrevistas, ElKarlaShow. Siempre ha estado en las artes escénicas, ya que era actriz antes de la pandemia. Al principio no esperaba que este programa de entrevistas se convirtiera en algo habitual, ya que al principio era algo que ella creo porque “el director del teatro sugirió que [ella] debería hacer algo los martes, que es cuando [ellos] se suelen encontrar. "Al principio no tenía un plan de cómo se vería este programa, pero el programa le dio un poco de esperanza al ver que todo lo que amaba hacer fue cancelado debido a la pandemia.

Cuando empezó a pensar en lo que podía hacer para este programa, llamó a uno de sus amigos que también estaba en el teatro con ella y decidió que lo entrevistara. Luego comenzó a hacer más de estas entrevistas a sus otras personas del teatro, y explicó que son como "entrevistas de personalidad, quién es la persona detrás de la cámara, la persona que siempre ves en Internet o alguien que hace algo quizás interesante pero no sabes quiénes son realmente. '' Después de que fue un éxito con sus compañeros de teatro, decidió que podía comenzar a hacerlo a mayor escala y entrevistar a otras personas. Comenzó a entrevistar a personas que pensaba que eran interesantes y que contribuyen positivamente a la sociedad, o estaban involucradas en las áreas de cultura o arte.

En particular, entrevista a artistas, cantantes, bailarines y productores porque atienden más a sus propios intereses, ya que ama el teatro y todo lo que conlleva. Sin embargo, más tarde realizó que “no todo el mundo es como [ella] ni está interesado en artistas, bailarines, cantantes, etc.”. Debido a esto, comenzó a elegir personas de otras áreas, como entrevistar a un piloto sobre cómo la pandemia los ha afectado a el y a su trabajo.

Le encanta interactuar con sus seguidores y la gente que envía mensajes directos o simplemente quiere hablar con ella. Ella explica cómo trata de responder con bastante rapidez, ya que se siente feliz y halagada de que la gente quiera acercarse y hablar con ella. Una cosa que aprendí de las entrevistas es que “nadie está fuera de su alcance y siempre hay algo que te conecta”. También explica algo más que ha aprendido es que todo el mundo tiene una forma de ver el mundo y eso los hace especiales. Muchas de las preguntas que les hace a las personas que entrevista son similares, pero es interesante ver que “su respuesta a preguntas simples es diferente cada vez y eso la ayuda a ver el mundo más grande”.

Uno de sus mayores obstáculos es que desea poder compartir más de su trabajo con más personas, pero sabe que todo lo bueno toma tiempo, por lo que está feliz de ser paciente y esperar. Su mayor temor cuando se trata del crecimiento de su programa es “no poder alcanzar su mejor potencial y lograr sus sueños”. Ella ha estado trabajando en este proyecto durante mucho tiempo y está feliz de poder finalmente hacerlo realidad.

Ella lo considera más un programa, pero dice que también podría tomarse más como un podcast. Explica cómo cree que lo que la separa su show de los demás es su “interacción con el público”. Para ella, sus seguidores no son extraños, sino personas con las que siempre habla y siente que conoce personalmente. A medida que crece en número, a veces es difícil mantenerse al día con todos y es dificl conectarse con ellos, pero ella siempre trata de mantenerse al día con ellos. Ella espera seguir expandiendo su marca y está feliz de estar en el camino hacia alla. Uno de sus mayores apoyos es su tío que le dice “que no deje de subir y siempre mantenga consistencia”. Espera no solo seguir haciendo entrevistas, sino también seguir hablando sobre temas que le interesan y le parecen importantes.

Su misión más importante con su programa es “dejar un impacto positivo en la gente porque [ella] cree que tiene un canal de comunicación muy importante” Quiere hacer un espacio en el que el público se sienta cercano a ella y confíe en ella. Espera que la gente la siga admirando y se sienta cerca de ella en los próximos 5 años , que sueña con estar en televsion o alguna gran plataforma como Netflix o Disney para poder seguir ayudando a la gente y dejando una actitud positiva e impacto en la sociedad.

Ha aplicado mucho de lo que ha aprendido en la Universidad como estudiante de comunicación en su programa. Ella ha aplicado muchas de estas lecciones, como cómo tratar con diferentes tipos de personas o los diferentes tipos de procedimientos que se deben realizar. Muchas veces lo que le toma más tiempo al hacer sus entrevistas es juntar todo. Primero, "hace un guión y se asegura de que todo lo que [ella] quiere que el público sepa sobre esta persona esté allí, realiza la entrevista y luego tiene que editar todo". Aunque puede resultar agotador, le encanta porque su programa ha permitido que tanta gente sea escuchada y se pueda expresar.

Si tuviera que dar un consejo a alguien que está empezando sería “tener un objetivo claro de lo que quieres hacer y ser coherente”. Ella cree que es lo que te hará destacar y ser diferente de los demás. También debes asegurarte de amar lo que haces porque entonces puedes hacer lo que amas y al mismo tiempo sacar algo de eso. Está contenta con la ruta que está tomando su programa y espera seguir viéndolo crecer y tener un impacto positivo en los demás.
