You log into Instagram and you see perfect lives, or you log into Twitter and you see situations that you think will never happen to you, and so many sites where you get paranoid because you are not doing something big or being loved. We are very anxious people, but that has to be because we were born in the middle of uncertainty.
The death of my Grandfather revolves around uncertainty. I remember that day fearing what comes in the afterlife, and how it went down. Ever since that day, I have created a lot of possible emotions a person goes through when dying, and that’s depending obviously on the way a person dies. But let’s not get too dark.´
When my grandfather died, I realized many things. First, I noticed how fast time passes by. Second, you go as you came into this world… with nothing, and third, that an urge grew in me to accomplish every goal I had upon me.
The thing with our generation is that most of us were born in the middle of uncertainty. We were born in the middle of 9/11, which affected us. For instance, if you go to an airport, you get paranoid even if you do not carry explosives, and that’s a really good metaphor for our mind nowadays.
I am pretty sure that I’m not the only one scared of not accomplishing my goals. We don’t want to end in a 9 to 5 job doing something we hate (As seen in Could Be the One – Avicii) and end up losing it because our goals are bigger than that, and that’s when uncertainty hits.
In Euphoria, we can see what I am talking about. Rue was born a day after 9/11 happened, and that affected her development as a child. Let’s remember that we are afraid of what’s coming next and of not being able to control everything, that’s something we see in Euphoria; the epitome of Gen Z.
Unfortunately, this pandemic has incremented the fear of our future and not getting things done. Even our elders and parents are looking forward to fearing the so-called-future.
Now, looking on a brighter side, we were born in a time when uncertainty was a gift sent from hell and grew up in a time where pop culture was harassing female celebrities (to the point of shaving their heads), dark and cheap humor programming was prevalent, and many iconic music moments were made. Yes the 2000s, made us strong even if we are one of the most depressing generations.
We are naturally adaptable, we advocate for our rights, our thinking is sharp, we have our judgment, and we can’t be manipulated that easily. We have to thank the fast-paced reality we live in for giving us the rapid thinking, and the strong personality we all have (yes, even you, who don’t consider yourself as strong).

Entre tantos sitios web, te vuelvas paranoico porque no estás haciendo algo grande o amado. Somos gente muy ansiosa pero eso tiene que ser porque nacimos en medio de la incertidumbre.
La muerte de mi abuelo gira en torno a la incertidumbre. Recuerdo ese día temiendo lo que vendrá después de la vida y cómo sucede. Desde ese día, he creado muchas emociones posibles las cuales una persona siente al morir y eso depende obviamente de la forma en que muere una persona. Pero no seamos tan profundos.
Cuando murió mi abuelo, me di cuenta de muchas cosas. Primero, me di cuenta de lo rápido que pasa el tiempo. Segundo, te vas como viniste a este mundo... sin nada, y tercero, que un impulso creció en mí para lograr cada objetivo que tenía.
Lo que pasa con nuestra generación es que la mayoría de nosotros nacimos en medio de la incertidumbre. Nacimos a mediados del 11 de septiembre y, de hecho, eso nos afectó a nosotros mismos. Por ejemplo, si vas a un aeropuerto, te vuelves paranoico incluso si no llevas explosivos, y esa es una metáfora realmente buena de la mente de hoy en día.
Estoy bastante segura de que no soy la única que tiene miedo de no lograr sus objetivos. No queremos terminar en un trabajo de 9 a 5 haciendo algo que odiamos (Como visto enPodría ser el indicado - Avicii) y terminar volviéndonos locos. Porque nuestros objetivos son más grandes que eso y es entonces cuando llega la incertidumbre.
En Euphoria, podemos ver de lo qué estoy hablando. Rue nació un día después de que sucediera el 11 de septiembre y eso afectó su desarrollo como niña. Recordemos que tenemos miedo de lo que vendrá después y de no poder controlar todo eso es algo que vemos en Euphoria; el epítome de la Generación Z.
Desafortunadamente, esta pandemia ha incrementado este temor por nuestro futuro y por no hacer las cosas que queremos. Incluso nuestros mayores y padres esperan temer al llamado futuro.
Ahora mirando hacia el lado positivo, hemos nacido en una época en la que la incertidumbre era un regalo del infierno y crecimos en una época en la que la cultura pop acosaba a los celebridades femeninas (al punto de raparse la cabeza), la programación barata de humor negro era prevalente y se crearon los momentos musicales más icónicos. Sí, los 2000, eso nos hizo fuertes incluso si somos una de las generaciones más depresivas.
Naturalmente, somos adaptables, abogamos por nuestros derechos, nuestro pensamiento es agudo y claro, tenemos nuestro propio juicio y no podemos ser manipulados tan fácilmente. Tenemos que agradecer a la realidad acelerada en la que vivimos por darnos el pensamiento rápido y la personalidad fuerte que todos tenemos (sí, incluso tú, que no te consideras fuerte).
